I can't think of anything more annoying than getting shushed by someone. Partially because I know I can be a loud talker, I get really embarrassed so my instinct is to say, "Oh yeah?!" really loud and to follow that up with silence and a mean face.
Confession: I shush Doug all the time, claiming he is a loud talker. I shall now refrain from doing so.
Confession, part 2: Okay, okay... I'll TRY to refrain from doing so. I can't make any big promises, okay?

i get shushed by logan almost daily when i talk on the phone. only he cringes in pain and acts like i'm physically hurting his ears with my decibel level. c'mon!
Andrew wants you to know that he has been shushed more at school than Doug has, so he feels your pain.

Fortunately I've never fallen victim to the "shush" (I know! Shocking). However, if I did, I think I would promptly punch that person in the face.
Amen!! I hate beig shushed, but I shush. I shush Ben (what is a girl to do when she is married to a man who talks constantly--even during Amazing Race!!). I shush Hannah (also a constant talker). I shush my babies (they cry). I shush the primary kids. I shush. So I think it stems to control. We don't like being told what to do, but we don't mind telling others. True?
My dad, brother and I got shushed by a stranger during priesthood session of conference once. I just told him to shut up and to mind his own business, and I quote, "...you self-righteous, overgrown boy scout." He didn't shush us again.

Dan hushes me through movies all the time! I just want to know what's going on! Sheesh!
