so big

Every new skill Addy learns astounds me.

Today she threaded Cheerios onto a string to make a bracelet, and I was so impressed you'd think she'd taught herself Calculus.

I so was proud so I pulled out the camera, which she really didn't get.

But really, fine manual dexterity?! That's the big time!

book nook

What, you don't read in the blanket basket in the hallway closet?

Addy has always been into books, but lately she's started "reading" them to herself or Grace. She won't always do it in front of us, so we feel like we've won the lottery when we can catch her mid-story.

great-grandma's tent

My sister loaned me this play tent my Grandma Shirley made decades ago. You throw it over a card table.

The girls have been loving it, especially Gracie. She squeals as she crawls into it. Grace looks a ton like my Grandma, so it makes me so happy that she digs it!

nose job

Want an allergy update? Of course you do.

My allergist could not find hardly anything I'm allergic to in Oregon (yet). He DID however find that I have nasal polyps. A CT scan showed I have an "impressive" number of polyps throughout all four sets of sinuses. He referred me to an ENT, who I saw this week. The ENT plans to remove the polyps and fix a slight deviated septum on April 10.

The surgery is a routine, out-patient procedure done with a scope, but it does involve breaking a few bones and such (to get to the polyps). So it should hurt for just a short while. There's potential for a black eye, and I almost hope I get one. Just to help my street cred.

In theory I'll get my smell and taste back (PLEASE!) and I'll get fewer sinus infections. The nasal polyps will most likely grow back, so I'll use a steroid nasal spray to hopefully slow their growth. I might need a surgery again in a few years, but I should get some relief for a while.

Bring on the nose job!

tucking in

The other day Addy took it upon herself to tuck her babies in using pieces of felt, of course.

She read them a story and a scripture, and eventually decided she needed to go to bed too.

Buenas noches.

cabin fever

Grace got a wicked flu this week, and I swear her fever just wouldn't quit. Horrible.

That led to a lot of time at home, but we only went a teensy bit crazy.

Just a teensy bit.
